The Appalachian Children's Coalition (ACC) is placing juniors and seniors in paid behavioral health internships. Students also receive free career coaching. The weekly time commitment is 10 hours. Spring slots are full but there are openings for summer and fall 2023. The contact at ACC is Anna Reed, areed@appchildren.org. The ACC received government money to build the mental/behavioral health workforce. If students complete the career coaching piece, they earn a $500 scholarship. If students go on to college to pursue behavioral or mental health, the ACC is offering $2500 per semester for up to four semesters of college.
