We are already into February and interim reports have been completed in the 3rd 9 weeks.
There are many events and schedules through the end of the school year, so I thought it would be good to try something different with What is UP at the FORT.
I have included a TAB at the bottom of the document with each remaining month (February, March, April, and May)
For those people that just want to focus on what is immediately upcoming, you can just look at the current month (February). It will have all the events and will be pretty solid on all details (should not change much).
For those people that want to see the entire picture and all the events and schedules, you can click on each Month and look at upcoming schedules and events. (such as testing, signing days, community service, musicals, Graduation, and other events). There could be more details added and some changes, but the dates and main framework should be the same.
I will make any updates and send out a new Edition each Friday, so keep checking it for changes and additions, but hopefully this appeals to the short term, long term, and somewhere in between planners.
Have a Great Week at the FORT and WELCOME TO THE WEEKEND!

We will be hosting Youth Girls Night at our JV/Varsity Girls Basketball game vs. Waterford on Saturday 2/10/24. All Fort Frye girls youth Rec league players will get free admission into the game and will be recognized at halftime of the Varsity game. Come out and support our High School teams and see the future of FF girls basketball.
Just a reminder that Spring Sports are starting soon, and any student wanting to participate needs to have an up to date physical, and the proper forms filled out in Final Forms. We will be having our Spring OHSAA parent meeting on Tuesday February, 27th.
A few Reminders of events this week:

Outstanding job by Mrs. Carhuay and the Spanish Honor Society members during the Induction Ceremony on Friday. Congratulations to the newly inducted members. #ArmaduraArriba
Parents/Guardians:
Your student has or will be emailing a copy of their YouScience results to you. Students completed a YouScience aptitude and interests assessment earlier this year and the results of their personal Strengths Profile has been sent to you. This Strengths Profile includes individual aptitudes.
Aptitudes indicate the potential to excel at and enjoy certain activities. Unlike skills, knowledge or interests, which can be enhanced or changed, aptitudes remain stable. They show how your student's brain is wired. Additionally, you will find information on how each aptitude affects your child, along with how they may find things easy or difficult. This Strengths Profile also has tips for making the most of each at school, at work, and in social activities.
Juniors and families: The Guidance Office sent an email regarding a bus trip to The Ohio State University March 25. If you are an FFHS junior who is interested in touring the OSU campus please notify Mrs. Walsh. There are still spots open on the trip. The announcement is also available on the High School Facebook page.
Seniors received an email regarding a special announcement from the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation and their requirements for their scholarships and the delay in FAFSA reporting. The announcement is also available on the high school Facebook Page.

WASHINGTON COUNTY SHERIFF CANDIDATES VISIT FORT FRYE HIGH SCHOOL GOVERNMENT CLASSES. The guest speakers that Mrs. Bennett and Mr. Bostic arrange throughout the year helps educate and provide engaging topics for our students. Students did an outstanding job asking relevant questions as they shape their present and future as active citizens. Thank You to both candidates for taking their time to talk with our students.
Congratulations to Fort Frye High School Senior, Emma Snyder, for being named a Semifinalist for the Highly Competitive Cook College Scholarship Program. Only 558 students across the United States were names Semifinalists. We are proud of Emma and how she represents Fort Frye! #ArmourUp

Thursday's Girls Basketball game vs Point Pleasant will be Senior night. We will recognize our three seniors between the JV and Varsity games.
At FFHS, we want our students to be involved, responsible and successful. The "Shield of Excellence" list requires students to 1) Demonstrate Academic Success in the Classroom with a 3.0 GPA or higher, 2) Be Responsible and a Good Citizen in the School Community with ZERO discipline, 3) Demonstrate Good Attendance with a 90% or higher attendance rate, and 4) Be actively involved in a group or team at Fort Frye High School. There characteristics are what will be required after graduation in college, military, or the work force. This 9 weeks we had 141 students that met all the criteria necessary to be recognized on the Shield of Excellence.
Congratulations to everyone!
