Fort Frye Local wellness coordinator, Megan Lang, organized a farm focus presentation for our kindergarten and first grade today. Students were presented with a short presentation on the importance of small farming communities and the local foods they have to offer. Goat cheese was even shared with the students. This was a great opportunity for the kiddos.

We had a great turn out last night for our annual family literacy night. Author/illustrator Blythe Russo spoke to our families about her crafts of writing and drawing. Aunt K's food truck was on grounds for families to purchase dinner if they chose to do so. In addition, the Scholastic Book Fair was open and Mr. Henniger had art work displayed for all to enjoy. It was a great evening for everyone.

First grade would like to thank Barry Backus from the Washington County Board of Developmental Disabilities for coming to talk with our first graders about inclusion. Each student was given their very own copy of the book “Strictly No Elephants.” Barry read the book to the students as they followed along. It was a heart-warming story about always including others and a wonderful reminder for all. ♥️
