Fort Frye marching band came to Salem-Liberty today to perform for grades third through fifth. This was a great performance. Way to go, FF band!!!!

In addition, preschool director, Joy Edgell, will be at Salem-Liberty tomorrow Thursday, March 30 to answer any questions you may have in regards to preschool. Joy will be present from 9 AM until 2 PM in the Salem-Liberty office.

Fort Frye Local wellness coordinator, Megan Lang, organized a farm focus presentation for our kindergarten and first grade today. Students were presented with a short presentation on the importance of small farming communities and the local foods they have to offer. Goat cheese was even shared with the students. This was a great opportunity for the kiddos.
We had a great turn out last night for our annual family literacy night. Author/illustrator Blythe Russo spoke to our families about her crafts of writing and drawing. Aunt K's food truck was on grounds for families to purchase dinner if they chose to do so. In addition, the Scholastic Book Fair was open and Mr. Henniger had art work displayed for all to enjoy. It was a great evening for everyone.

Alexus Masterson came to Salem-Liberty today to speak with our third through fifth graders on the importance of sleep. Alexis works for the Ohio State University extension office.

First grade would like to thank Barry Backus from the Washington County Board of Developmental Disabilities for coming to talk with our first graders about inclusion. Each student was given their very own copy of the book “Strictly No Elephants.” Barry read the book to the students as they followed along. It was a heart-warming story about always including others and a wonderful reminder for all. ♥️
The Kindergarten class made green eggs to celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday. The students really enjoyed this activity.
